Mister Muddy has started making a name for himself. If I wasn’t there, I wouldn’t believe it. This summer he got his first phone call…
Hello?
Is Muddy There?
May I ask who’s calling?
It’s the Pedigree Foundation. We’d like to speak to him about a volunteer opportunity.
I had them hang up and call back on FaceTime so they could see each other and communicate better. Plus, I was curious and wanted to see what was going on. Muddy’s ears perked up when they said his name.
Mister Muddy, we would like you to be the face of Rescue Dogs for our 2019 campaign to raise awareness and support for dogs like you.
He looked at me. Then down at the phone. He ran into the closet and came back dressed to impress. He sat up proper like he was getting ready for a photo.

The Pedigree Foundation would like to share the story of how you were rescued from Hurricane Harvey by Agape Animal Rescue and given a forever home with the Griffin family. Your story is almost too crazy to be true. We would like to share your story on our website and sell stuffed animal versions of you as a fundraiser for rescue dogs, Mister Muddy.
Muddy ran over and picked up a stuffed dog out of his toy basked. He dropped it next to the phone indicating that he understood. The Pedigree Foundation took that as a yes. Mister Muddy would officially be the Pedigree Foundation 2019 Rescue dog of the Year!!
They shared his story with all of their followers. Then they sent us a prototype of the stuffed Mud dog.

When it arrived the kids were so excited over it. Muddy gave it’s rear a little sniff to see if it was real. We placed it proudly in our living room. The legacy of Mister Molson has been far reaching and continues to affect us everyday. Now, Mister Muddy can begin a legacy of his own. Just as Mister Molson’s story led us to help fight canine cancer, Mister Muddy has been chosen to help rescue dogs.
We are so blessed to be the lucky family of two famous dogs making a difference in the world. We will continue to share the adventures of Mister Muddy and his new title “Rescue Dog of the Year“.
